World Book and Copyright Day

• Every year on 23 April 2022 'World Book and Copyright Day' is celebrated all over the world.

• This day is celebrated to increase awareness about the study of books and copyright.

• It was decided to celebrate this day on 23 April every year at the General Assembly of UNESCO held in Paris in the year 1995.

• This year the city of Guadalajara in Mexico was voted the World Book Capital.

• 23 April 1616 is the anniversary of the death of three great writers, William Sexpierre, Miguel de Cervantes and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, that is why 23 April is celebrated as 'World Book and Copyright Day'.
