New Director General of Indian Air Force

• Air Marshal Sanjeev Kapoor took over as the Director General (Inspection and Security) [DG (I&S)] of the Indian Air Force on May 01, 2022 at Air Headquarters, New Delhi.

• The Air Marshal is a graduate of the National Defense Academy and was commissioned into the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force in December 1985 as a Transport Pilot.

• He is an alumnus of Defense Services Staff College (DSSC) Wellington, College of Defense Management and National Defense College.

• The Air Force officer has over 7700 hours of flying experience on various aircraft enlisted in the Indian Air Force and is a qualified Flight Instructor.

• The Vayu Sena officer has been awarded the Vayu Sena Medal and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
