New Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal

• SL Thosen, a 1988 batch Indian Police Service officer, has been appointed as the new Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

• Thosen, an IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, is serving as the Special Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF).

• The post of SSB chief has been lying vacant since the incumbent DG Kumar Rajesh Chandra retired on December 31 last year.

• DG of Indo-Tibetan Border Police Sanjay Arora has since been holding the additional charge of DG Sashastra Seema Bal.
