- The appointment of former SEBI chairman UK Sinha as non-executive chairman and additional director for a period up to March 26, 2025 has been approved by the board of New Delhi Television Limited (NDTV).
- In addition, NDTV has appointed Deepali Goenka, MD & CEO of Welspun India, as an additional director in the rank of non-executive independent woman director.
- The appointments come in the wake of a significant change in the leadership of NDTV following the takeover by former NDTV promoters, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, by the Gautam Adani-led group.
- The Gautam Adani Group now controls about 65 per cent stake in NDTV.
- On 30 December 2022, Roy sold 27.26% stake in NDTV to AMG Media Network, an Adani-owned entity.
