108 feet tall statue of Adi Shankaracharya unveiled


  • A 108 feet tall statue of Adi Shankaracharya was unveiled in Omkareshwar.
  • On September 21, CM Shivraj Singh unveiled Adi Shankaracharya's 'Ekatmata Ki Pratima' or 'Statue of Oneness' in Omkareshwar, Madhya Pradesh.
  • In 2022, the state cabinet had approved the project to celebrate the life and philosophy of the 8th century Hindu philosopher and saint.
  • This 108 feet high statue is located on Mandhata mountain in Omkareshwar.
  • Omkareshwar, situated on the picturesque banks of River Narmada, is about 80 km from Indore city.
  • This statue is the third major statue built by the government in India.
  • Earlier, the Statue of Equality was inaugurated in Hyderabad in memory of 11th century Bhakti saint Sri Ramanujacharya on his 1,000th birth anniversary.
