National Science Day 2024

• National Science Day or National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28 February in India.

• This day is celebrated to commemorate the discovery of the Raman effect by Sir C.V. Raman on 28 February 1928.

• The theme of National Science Day 2024 is "Indigenous Technology for Developed India".

• In 1930, CV Raman won the Nobel Prize in Physics for his discovery of the Raman effect.

• He also received the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1954.

• In 1986, the Government of India declared 28 February as National Science Day.
