The Defence Acquisition Council has approved defence proposals worth Rs 79,000 crore.

  • The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has approved defence proposals worth ₹79,000 crore to enhance the capabilities of the armed forces.
  • The Acceptance of Necessity for these proposals was granted at a meeting chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on December 29.
  • For the Indian Army, the procurement of Loiter Munition Systems for artillery regiments has been approved.
  • Low-level light radars for detecting and tracking small, low-flying unmanned aerial systems have also been approved.
  • Long-range guided rocket ammunition for the Pinaka Multi-Launch Rocket System has also been sanctioned.
  • The Integrated Drone Detection and Interception System Mk-II has been approved to strengthen anti-drone capabilities.
