Armenia becomes the 104th full member of the International Solar Alliance

  • Armenia has recently gained membership in the International Solar Alliance (ISA) as the 104th full member.
  • The International Solar Alliance is an international organization established by India in 2015.
  • It aims to promote solar energy worldwide and foster cooperation in the field.
  • The ISA aims to connect 121 countries, with preference given to those located in the tropical zone, to promote the development and use of solar energy.
  • Armenia joining the ISA is an important step as it will further strengthen global cooperation in the field of solar energy for small and developing countries. For an energy resource-limited country like Armenia, solar energy can be an economically and environmentally important source.
  • Through the International Solar Alliance, Armenia can receive support services such as innovation in solar technologies, financial support, and policy support that will help it meet its energy needs and achieve environmental goals.
