- A new digital empowerment scheme called 'Digi-Lakshmi' has been launched by the Andhra Pradesh government.
- Under this initiative, 9,034 Common Service Centres (CSCs) will be set up in the urban local bodies of the state.
- The scheme has been formally notified through Government Order No. 117 issued by S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development and Urban Development.
- These Common Service Centres will be managed by eligible self-help group (SHG) women.
- This is part of the government's 'One Family, One Entrepreneur' (OF-OE) approach, which aims to convert self-help groups into small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
